Facepalm

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

I smack the snooze button on my alarm clock.
I try to fall back into my blissful sleep. 
But it escapes me... 

I sigh as I look up at the numbers on the clock. 
It says 12:00pm.
I read it again. 
But, it still says 12:00pm. 
My eyes widen, 
and I start to freak. 

I scramble around for some clothes,
in heaps of cluttered mess.
Tangled hair.
Tired eyes.
Headed for the door, 
when my mother calls out to me. 

"Sophie, where are you going?" 
"To school, duh." I reply, with an unexpected amount of sass. 
"On a Sunday?" 
I turn around, and stare at her. 
Right in the eyeballs.
 
"Lord Jesus."
